The Shark Swims On

Bernadina's time with the Phillies was short lived. He only had 83 at-bats and few spectacular catches. The Phillies did not re-sign him and he became a free agent.

The Cincinnati Reds brought on Roger Bernadina in the 2014 preseason as a non-roster invite. In 44 games for the Reds, the Shark batted .153.

Following the release from the Reds, the Shark signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.  He was called up in September 2014 and batted .286 in 7 at-bats with a homer and 4 RBIs.

In 2015, the Shark played for the Colorado Rockies AAA Team and batted .276 with 20 stolen bases.

In 2016, the Shark played for the New York Mets' AAA Team and batted .292 with 20 stolen bases.

In 2017 and 2018, the Shark played for the KBO Team, the Kia Tigers and in two seasons, scored 224 runs, hit 47 home runs, drove in 181 runs, stole 64 bases, and put up an OPS of .898.

​

While he wasn't re-signed by the Kia Tigers in 2019, the Shark played professional baseball in Japan, Taiwan, and Mexico.

​

He also helped the Netherlands clinch a spot in the Final Qualifying Tournament for the 2020 Olympic Games.
